A four-year research project on aspects of corporate governance for family businesses: ownership structure, board composition and management with a particular focus on the family as owners. Other important aspects dealt with in the project is the capital of the family business and how ownership structure affects the need and demand for external capital. Currently, research is underway in the following areas: CEO-selection in family firm, the effects of female corporate executives, directors and owners on firm performance, and external financing of family firms.
The results will be presented at international conferences and in scientific journals, but presentations are also planned to a wider audience. The research project is run by Johanna Palmberg, associate Professor and Research Director Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum.
